Moving from Protractor
Switch from Protractor without starting over
Bring your customers, vehicles and repair history into AutoSync — import them yourself in an afternoon, or hand the whole migration to our team.
Two ways to bring your data
Pick one, or start on your own and let us finish the rest.
Do it yourself
Customers, vehicles and service history, with a preview before anything is saved.
- Export from ProtractorExport your customer, vehicle and repair order lists from Protractor as CSV or Excel files (saved as CSV). If you can’t find an export, Protractor support can send one, or send us what you have.
- Choose “Generic CSV” in AutoSyncSettings → Data import. Columns are matched by name, and you can point any column the importer doesn’t recognize at the right field.
- Check the preview, then importRows that can’t be matched are listed so you can fix them. Customers and vehicles are linked by email, phone and VIN.
Our team does it
Send us your Protractor exports. You get a dry run and a reconciliation report before go-live — and it can be rolled back.
- Customers and contact details
- Vehicles (VIN, plate, mileage)
- Repair order and invoice history
- Payments

Questions shops ask before switching
Will I lose my customer and vehicle history when I leave Protractor?
No. Export your customers, vehicles and repair order history from Protractor as CSV files and import them in AutoSync under Settings → Data import. Every import shows a preview before anything is saved, so you can check the matches first.
Can the AutoSync team do the migration for me?
Yes. Send us your exports and our team runs a full migration: customers, vehicles, repair orders, payments, parts, vendors, canned jobs, appointments and team members. You get a dry run and a reconciliation report before go-live, and it can be rolled back.
How long does switching take?
Most shops import customers and vehicles in an afternoon. An assisted migration with full history is usually scheduled within a few days, and you can keep using Protractor until you are ready to switch.
Do I have to change how my shop works?
No. Repair orders, digital inspections, the job board, scheduling, texting and payments follow the same flow your advisors and techs already know, and the setup tour walks each person through it.
