Turn on two-factor sign-in
Protect your AutoSync account with a 6-digit code from an authenticator app.
Two-factor sign-in means that signing in takes your password and a 6-digit code from your phone. If someone learns your password, they still can't get into your shop.
What you need
- Your phone with an authenticator app: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, Authy or similar.
- About two minutes.
Turn it on
- Click your name in the top-right corner and choose My account & security.
- Find Two-factor and click Set up two-factor.
- Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code on the screen. On a phone, tap Open in authenticator app instead.
- Type the 6-digit code the app shows and confirm.
From now on, AutoSync asks for a code each time you sign in on a new device.
Tip: Each team member turns on two-factor for their own login. Owners can see who has it on in the two-factor column on Settings → Team.
If you get a new phone
Before you wipe your old phone, move your authenticator accounts to the new one (most apps have a transfer or backup option). If you've already lost the old phone, ask your shop owner or another admin to contact AutoSync support from their account. For your security we verify who you are before we reset two-factor.
Codes that don't work
- Codes change every 30 seconds. Wait for a fresh one and type it quickly.
- Make sure the time on your phone is set automatically. A phone clock that is a few minutes off produces wrong codes.
